Dr. Mike de Wit Joins BRC Diamond Board

Toronto, Canada - July 6, 2007 - BRC Diamond Corporation ("BRC" or the "Company") (TSX.V - "BRC") is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Michiel 'Mike' de Wit to its Board of Directors.

Dr. de Wit is also President and Chief Executive Officer of BRC, having been appointed to these positions effective May 1, 2007 following a 29-year career with De Beers, where he managed various exploration programs in Africa which led to a number of kimberlite discoveries. Prior to joining BRC, Dr. de Wit was general manager for De Beers in the Democratic Republic of the Congo ("DRC"), and was previously responsible for all exploration programs for De Beers in Africa. He holds MSc degrees in geophysics and sedimentology from the Universities of Pretoria and Reading (UK), respectively, and a PhD degree from the University of Cape Town.

Commenting on the appointment, Simon Village, a Company director, said: "We are pleased to welcome Mike to the BRC Board. Since his appointment as President and CEO, Mike has provided a new dimension to the Company and his vast experience in both the DRC and South Africa with De Beers will continue to play an important role in the Company's proposed merger with Diamond Core Resources Limited of South Africa. We are also confident that with Mike being based in Kinshasa, DRC, and with the recently signed working agreement with Diamond Core ahead of the merger, BRC will be able to accelerate the development of its projects, particularly with respect to BRC's Kwango River alluvial project."

BRC is a Canadian-based diamond exploration company focused principally in the DRC. Led by a management team with extensive experience in the DRC, the Company is active in some of the most prospective diamond regions of the country. Banro Corporation, the Company's largest shareholder with a 27.5% interest in BRC, is a mineral exploration company focused exclusively on the DRC.
